Tuesday was such a fun day. During the morning Mom, Dad and I ate breakfast at
The Rising Loafer, a yummy place on Main street that my parents went to for breakfast 3 days in a row! We ate outside and enjoyed the weather and people-watching. Then we walked to see
Oscar and fed him some carrots. He came right over- we didn't have to wait very long at all! That afternoon my mom and I went to
The English Rose for tea and lunch and then we shopped along main street. While we were enjoying ourselves, Pascal and Dad were golfing in Dublin (in the 100 heat!). It's been cold and rainy for months and then of course when my parents come visit we have one of the hottest days of the year. It's like they brought the heat with them! It was good Houston heat-training for Pascal- he did great!
When we went to feed Oscar we passed a bunch of
cherry trees. On the way over my mom picked a bunch and ate them on the spot. They were so ripe and delicious that we decided to pick some more on our way back. We kind of went crazy. We ended up with a huge bagful! We decided to make a cherry pie with all of the delicious Pleasanton cherries!
Yum yum yum. It turned out so well. We had Pascal's parents over for dinner and we ate crab cakes (one of my absolute favorite things from the
meat and fish market on Main street) with quinoa and asparagus. For dessert we served the cherry pie with homemade ice cream.
Yay! I'm so glad my parents were able to come and visit!

Second of all: looks like you guys had so much fun!! I love it when the good weather rolls around and it's finally possible to do all these nice things outside. That pie looks delicious! Did you make the crust too??
