Alameda county fair in Pleasanton!

Yesterday we went to the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton. We were super impressed. It was so much fun! This just makes us love Pleasanton even more. The rides looked fun, the food was good, there were concerts, and better yet.... there was MUTTON BUSTIN'!

Basically what happens is kids between 30-60 lbs are elligible to enter to ride on the back of a sheep as long as they possibly can. They almost always fall off within a few seconds. It's one of the cutest, funniest, and most ridiculous things I've ever seen and it always makes for a good time.

 

The sheep would gather at the other end of the ring after getting rid of the kids. There was a sheep dog that would herd them, and they would stare intently at the dog to see what it was going to do. It was really fun to see the sheep dog in action.

We also saw 9 week old piglets, a baby calf, and...

Little Sebastian! Haha no, just kidding. We wish. 

 There were also square dancers...

and pig races!

 Not to mention some crazy looking chickens. I never knew there were so many different kinds of chickens out there. They also had what seemed like every type of bunny imaginable and lots of baby chicks, ducks, and turkeys.

Yay! I'm so glad we were able to go to the fair!
