Earth cracking and swaying
This phenomenal video from CNN shows cracks in the ground at a park in Tokyo opening and closing as the ground rolls from the quake. You can also see water alternatively bubbling up and sinking back into holes and cracks in the ground. The water is coming up as a result of liquefaction, which is explained nicely here.

hey there i just wanted to let you know i really enjoyed your post :D earthquake preparedness is such an important topic. people do not understand how important it is to be prepared for these contingencies. again, thanks for posting :D
